Practice Procedures for 2021 / Updated May 25, 2021

In accordance with current guidance from the Larimer County Health Department and CSU, we are updating our guidelines for Larimer County in-person 4-H programming.

As of today, May 25, 2021, until further instruction, the guidelines for 4-H In-person programming are as follows:

  • Proper mask-wearing is encouraged indoors but is up to the discretion of individuals and families.

  • Hand sanitizing and frequent hand washing are encouraged, especially for indoor events.

  • Social distancing must be enforced for indoor events with over 100 attendees. If you plan to hold an event with 100 attendees or more, you must discuss it with a Larimer County 4-H agent in advance.

Signing up for practices:

  • All eligible members should have received an invitation email with the SignUpGenius links for their disciplines.

  • Registration is required for each practice date via SignUpGenius.

  • Each discipline sets the deadline for closing its SignUpGenius before practice.

  • Adults must include complete contact information in the SignUpGenius.

  • We can now allow additional family members at practices. Please include the names of these family members on the SignUpGenius so we have a solid attendance count. (Update your existing signups with family members’ names as well.)

Dress Code Reminder

The weather is getting warmer, so it’s a good time to remind everyone about the dress code for Larimer County 4-H Shooting Sports. Shooting Sports has some rules in addition to the standard dress code for 4-H, so please take note.

  • No short shorts. Shorts must be mid-thigh length. Fingertip length when your hands are at your sides is a good rule of thumb.

  • No sleeveless shirts. Short-sleeves or long-sleeves are required.

  • Closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times. No sandals or flip-flops are allowed. Keens and Crocs are not closed-toe shoes.

  • Clothes must be neat and tidy. Shredded jeans and clothes with cut-outs are not allowed.

  • No inappropriate logos or verbiage. Make sure your clothing is 4-H appropriate.

If you come to practice and don’t meet the dress code, you will be asked if you have other clothes or shoes to fix it. Otherwise, you may not be allowed to participate.

Volunteers:

You no longer need to submit the COVID In-Person Programming request form to hold in-person events. However, approval must be requested and received in advance to hold any 4-H events outside of regular club meetings that are not planned in coordination with a Larimer County 4-H Agent by submitting this form.

Attendance records are also no longer required to be submitted.

As a reminder, all club fundraising must be approved in advance. Request approval by submitting this form at least two weeks in advance of your fundraising activities.

We suggest bookmarking these two forms as these will be required for all applicable events moving forward.

Thank you for all you have done over the past 15 months to protect the health of our community and each other and to collaborate with us to continue to provide programming in creative ways to the Larimer County 4-H youth through this challenging time. We are truly stronger together, and we are so excited to move forward into this next phase with you.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact one of your 4-H agents:

2021 State Championships to be Alternate Format

We have received word that the 2021 Colorado State 4-H Shooting Sports Championships will be conducted using an alternate format similar to that used in 2020.

State shoot will not be a centralized event hosted in Pueblo and Colorado Springs at the end of the summer. Instead, 4-H members who qualify will compete at a scheduled shoot at the local county level. Targets and scorecards will be submitted so that results can be compiled at the state level.

The decision to follow the alternate format for 2021 will allow for all counties to begin planning for State Championships activities earlier. Even with the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, there are still many variables and unknowns that must be considered regarding the status of State, County, and University COVID-19 guidelines at the end of August. These variables and unknown factors may have significant impacts on the ability of County and State programs to coordinate and deliver an event(s) the size and scope of the Colorado State 4-H Shooting Sports Championships. Therefore, following the alternate format for the 2021 Colorado State 4-H Shooting Sports Championships will help to ensure that all 4-H members who are eligible to compete in the State Championships have the opportunity to do so. Counties will be encouraged to work together to coordinate alternate format State Championships events. More information regarding the 2021 State 4-H Shooting Sports Championships alternate format will be shared as it becomes available in the near future.
