County Shoot Registrations

It’s county shoot season, and that means it’s time to register!

County shoots are coming up, and that means it's time to register!

Registration is a two-step process for each discipline.

1) Practice Cards:
Members are required to have four punches for each discipline. Place your completed practice card, with your full name on it, in the box at practice BEFORE the “Register by” deadline.

2) SignUpGenius:
Each discipline has a SignUpGenius to choose the class (or classes) and time slots that members will be shooting for county shoot. Please read the instructions for each discipline thoroughly. The SignUpGenius will close at 11:59 p.m. on the Registration Deadline listed for each discipline.

The links to the SignUpGenius was emailed to Shooting Sports members. If you did not receive it, please reach out to your key leader or email info@lc4hss.org. If you have any questions, please ask!

Hunter Education Cards Due July 1, 2023

Hunter education is NOT required to take part in Shooting Sports in Larimer County 4-H. Members CAN participate in practices and county shoots without a hunter education card.

However, to be eligible to compete at the state competition, participants must submit their hunter education card before the July 1, 2023 deadline. (Bowhunter education is acceptable for Archery.)

Submit your hunter education before July 1 by emailing a photo of your card to Pam Heeney.

Dress Code Reminder

The sun has come out and the weather has (finally) warmed up, prompting everyone to grab their shorts, tank tops, and sandals. But please remember that Larimer County 4-H Shooting Sports has a dress code.

Shorts should be mid-thigh length.

Shirts must have sleeves…no tank tops or sleeveless shirts.

Shoes must be closed-toe…no sandals, Keens, Crocs.

This dress code applies to all Shooting Sports members and leaders.

And parents, you will NOT be able to be on the shooting line or cross it without closed-toe shoes.

You can view the entire Shooting Sports Dress Code here.

Support for 4-H Family

As you may know, one of our 4-H families was involved in a tragic car accident on Wednesday, June 7. 4-H Leader Kate Ulam was lost in that accident, and her son David McConnell suffered injuries but is recovering. Community members have started a GoFundMe site for the McConnell family and for the Ulam Family for those who would like to contribute. Community members have also set up an informational blog for updates on David. For those in need of support, we are aware of one mental health resource through the state of Colorado, but there are likely others available.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to donate to either the Livermore Wranglers 4-H Club or the Larimer County 4-H Foundation in honor of Kate’s memory.

If you would like to donate to the Livermore Wranglers, please make your check out to:
Livermore Wranglers 4-H Club (put Kate Ulam on the memo line)

If you would like to donate to the Larimer County 4-H Foundation, please make your check out to:
Larimer County 4-H Foundation (put Kate Ulam on the memo line)

Please mail your check to:

Larimer County 4-H Foundation

Our hearts go out to all of those impacted by this tragedy.
