Air Rifle and Air Pistol Practice Alert

Please be aware that there are now only 4 practices before the county shoot!

Keep in mind that all participants must attend a minimum of four Larimer County 4-H practices to participate in the County Shoot. (If a member is participating in both .22 Rifle and Air Rifle, the youth may opt to attend two practices in each discipline rather than four in each. This does NOT apply to practices for any other discipline.)

Shooting Sports Leader Certification 2023

At the Shooting Sports leader certification trainings this year, we had:

• existing leaders re-certifying in a discipline,

• new leaders receiving certification in a discipline,

• leaders instructing the training, and

• members becoming certified junior leaders.

The trainings span Friday evening, all of Saturday, and half of Sunday. We appreciate you spending your weekends to help the 4-H Shooting Sports program in our county.

Required Paperwork Deadline / March 20 at 9:30 p.m.

All Shooting Sports youth and parents/guardians MUST agree to the Required Paperwork including the Shooting Sports Waiver and Practice Policy, as well as the Policies and Procedures. The link to access this Required Paperwork and fill out the Google Form was given at the end of each Annual Safety Meeting on Zoom.

The deadline for all members to complete this paperwork for is Monday, March 20 at 9:30 p.m. Members not completing this requirement by the due date will not be able to participate in orientations or practices.

UPDATE: Hunter Education Course / March 25–26, 2023

Update as of March 15, 2023: This class is full, and there is a waiting list.

Update as of March 13, 2023: We currently have 6 slots open for our Hunter Education class on March 25–26. This is an Internet Completion Course, so it requires that the online portion to completed prior to attending.

Update as of February 17, 2023: This class is full, and there is a waiting list.

Larimer County 4-H Shooting Sports is hosting a conclusion course for Hunter Education on March 25–26, 2023. This conclusion course requires all participants to have completed the online course PRIOR to attending the in-person course.

Larimer County’s National Team Members 2023

Congratulations! Four members of Larimer County 4-H Shooting Sports have been named to the Colorado 4-H teams to compete at the National 4-H Shooting Sports Championships in Grand Island, Nebraska in June 2023.

  • Tait Simpson, Muzzleloading

Teams are comprised of four members per discipline, chosen based on their standings at the Colorado 4-H State Shooting Sports Championships in 2022. Teams participate in three days of competition and meet 4-H members from across the country.

Shooting Sports Booth at 4-H Carnival

Volunteer to help Shooting Sports at the 4-H Carnival on Saturday, March 4. The Carnival is our largest fundraiser of the year and the funds help support Larimer County members who are traveling to Nationals in June as well as other Shooting Sports needs. It's a popular booth and a lot of fun to help!
