Ammunition Shortage

Ammunition is a challenge right now! Shooting Sports members in .22 Rifle, .22 Pistol, and Shotgun may have some trouble finding .22 rounds and shotgun shells at a reasonable price. The Shooting Sports program may have some available for members to use, but not enough for all members to use for the entire season. Please be on the lookout to buy supplies for your family. You can set notifications on some websites to alert you when it's in stock, and please check stores for stock regularly.

Hunter Education Course Information / April 17–18
Hunter Ed Course.png

Hunter education is not required to compete at the county shoots. However, to be eligible to compete at the state competition, participants must submit their hunter education card before the July 1 deadline.

11 Years and Older

Members who are 11-years-old or older have the opportunity to receive their hunter education card by completing ONLY the online course before May 15, 2021. This is a temporary allowance due to health restrictions, so we recommend getting started now. The cost is $24.50.

Under 11 Years

For members who are under 11-years-old, the online course at Hunter-Ed.com is required prior to attending the in-person internet completion course.

Register for the in-person class here and then click the button above to register and begin the online course.

The in-person completion course will be held on April 17–18, 2021 at the First National Bank Building at The Ranch and Front Range Gun Club in Loveland. The class fee is $10.

The major portion of this course uses the Internet to complete the mandatory homework. The online portion of this course is $24.50 and is available. Students must show the certificate of completion for the online course to attend the classroom session.

On Saturday, we will meet at the First National Bank building at The Ranch in Loveland from 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. On Sunday, we will meet at the Front Range Gun Club at 697 Denver Avenue in Loveland from 8:00–10:00 a.m.

2021-03-10 Shooting Sports Leader Certification Larimer County.jpg

For members and leaders who are registered to attend the Shooting Sports leader training this weekend:

As a result of potential safety, travel, and logistical challenges brought forth by the significant snowstorm predicted to impact the front range, southern, and eastern regions of Colorado over the weekend, and in an abundance of caution, the State 4-H Shooting Sports Leader Training scheduled for March 13–14 has been postponed.

The training will now take place April 10–11 following the same agenda and locations found in the training information that you have previously received.

Please check your email for details and options if you are unable to attend the revised dates.

Enrollment Help and Deadline Reminder
Pay by Check Graphic.jpg

Keep in mind that enrollment must be complete and the enrollment fee must be paid before members are eligible to attend in-person orientation and begin Shooting Sports practices.

There are many members whose enrollment is NOT complete because it has not been correctly submitted on the new 4HOnline system (v2.4honline.com).

The new system is a little confusing for us all. The system requires you to verify how you're paying the enrollment fee, though Larimer County does not accept payment on 4HOnline. Please see this instruction sheet to walk you through the required options to finish the enrollment process and submit it to Larimer County 4-H.

Payment for the enrollment fee is accepted via check mailed to the Larimer County Extension Office at 1525 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80524 or via PayPal at this link:

https://forms.logiforms.com/formdata/user_forms/74846_2296047/366695/page1.html

The enrollment deadline is coming up quickly on March 15.

If you have any questions, please contact your club leader or Pam Heeney at heeneyps@co.larimer.co.us.
