3D Targets at Archery Tonight
Deer Archery Target.png

I hope most everyone is out of school for the summer. I also hope that the weather is going to stabilize a bit so that we can enjoy our outdoor county practices. So far the weather looks good for tonight’s outdoor practice, but we all know how quickly that can change. As always, use your best judgement when deciding whether or not to show up.

Tonight we will try to set up our new 3D targets, generously donated by NRA. So, if you are ready for some 3D practice, come on down and join us. Since this is the first week for 3D, there may be some kinks to work out, so please be patient and lend a helping hand if you see a need. Just as we have done at the state competition, we will be limiting the number of arrows per 3D target, so don’t come expecting to launch all 5 arrows (seniors) or 3 arrows (juniors) into the target every round. We will see how it goes with 1 or 2 arrows per target.

Also, don’t forget your sunscreen, bug spray, umbrella, and lawn chairs. And most importantly, bring some water to keep yourself and family members hydrated.

Hope to see you tonight.

County Archery Practice Moving Outdoors

County practice moves outdoors on Thursday nights at 6:00 p.m. this week. We are no longer using the Swift Ponds range. County practices will be held across the parking lot to the south of the McKee Building, where we’ve recently held county shoot.

Archery practice cancellation policy remains the same as in past years. If we know before 2:00 p.m. that practice needs to be canceled, you will receive an email message. If we do not email and weather turns bad, we may still cancel, but Scott Barber will be at the practice location to let everyone know. Use your best judgement—if the area is getting lots of rain or lightning, we may postpone or cancel.

This first practice will be targets only, but we will be discussing ideas for introducing 3D targets to our practices.
