What to Bring

  • All of your shooting equipment and safety equipment.

  • Water!

  • Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and other protection from the sun.

  • Chairs for everyone in your group.

  • Pop-up canopy if you have one.

  • Food and healthy snacks, etc. (There will be concessions at the Archery, Muzzleloader, and .22 Rifle venues, but please plan accordingly.)

  • Your superintendent’s phone number! Make a note or create a contact so you can text your discipline’s leader if you have a problem or need help.

Things to Know

It’s been a few years since we’ve traveled for the state shoot, and some members have not attended a state competition held outside of our county. Here are a few notes to think about and be sure to share with your kids who are shooting.

  • Equipment failures: If you have a problem with your equipment, raise your hand and ask for help. There is an allowance for equipment failures and the range officers can ask your leader to assist you. Not all problems can be fixed, but it doesn’t hurt to ask!

  • Crossfires: Watch for crossfires on your target and raise your hand if you notice that someone else has shot your target. Also, if you accidentally crossfire on another target, raise your hand and tell the range officer.

Contact

If you have a question while at state, text or call your discipline’s superintendent. You can find contact information near the top of each Discipline’s page.
