Archery Practices Move Outdoors

The Ranch

Beginning next week on May 19, archery practices at the Ranch will move outdoors on Thursday evenings. Meet us in the field east of the McKee Building.

We appreciate families arriving 15 minutes early to help us set up the range, and staying to help take down targets at the end. Practice runs from 6:00–8:00 p.m., and no new members will be checked in after 7:15 p.m. Bring your own chairs, sunscreen, and water.

Lon Hagler

The High Country Handiworkers 4-H Club also offers an additional opportunity to practice beginning on Tuesday, May 17. These club-hosted practices are at 6:00 p.m. at the Lon Hagler Archery Range, 4401 West County Road 16 in Loveland. Equipment will NOT be available for members to borrow at these practices. Members can count two of these practices toward the four required to participate in the county shoot for Archery. Please note that Lon Hagler is a Colorado State Wildlife Area, therefore anyone 16-years or older MUST have a fishing license, hunting license, or SWA pass with a habitat stamp to be on the property. Those 65 and older do not require a habitat stamp. Those under the age of 16 do not require a license. More information about State Wildlife Areas and requirements is available on the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website.

The 4-H Shooting Sports dress code will be enforced at both sites. Remember that shorts must be mid-thigh length or longer, shoes must be closed-toe (no Crocs or Keens), and shirts must have sleeves.

More information including maps and calendars with dates for upcoming practices is available under Archery.
