Archery County Shoot and State Shoot Changes for 2020

For the 2020 County Shoot on August 2 held at Colorado Youth Outdoors/Swift Ponds and the State Shoot (date to be determined held at The Ranch), members will NOT be shooting a 3D round.

The State Shoot will be held in Larimer County for the participants who qualify to compete as the Larimer County state team. Each county with members of a state team will shoot within their own county. Because of this, the 3D was eliminated so all team members will compete at the same FITA distances and course of fire.

A modified FITA course of fire will be followed as listed in the rule book.

  • Seniors will shoot 5 arrows at each FITA distance (40, 30, 20, and 10 yards) in two rounds for a total of 40 shots and a total possible score of 400.

  • Juniors will shoot 5 arrows at each FITA distance (40, 30, 20, and 10 yards) in one round for a total of 20 shots and a total possible score of 200.

Archers should be prepared to have 6 arrows for the shoot—5 arrows will be in the quiver and one in the bucket in case it’s needed.

We may need parents to help with scoring on the Orion cards, especially for the junior participants who have not had the opportunity to learn how they work this year. We will happily train adults, so please keep this in mind.
