Shooting Sports Leader Certification Schedule 2021
Shooting Sports COLORADO square.jpg

Larimer County’s Shooting Sports program needs certified volunteers! Shooting Sports certification trainings are being tentatively planned for March and April. Please consider attending a training and volunteering in our program!

The trainings usually cost $135, and the Larimer County 4-H Foundation will reimburse a portion of that after serving the Shooting Sports program for one year. The last time trainings were held in 2019, we received a donation to cover the cost to all Junior Leaders (14–18-year-olds).

If you are not currently a 4-H leader, call the Extension office at 970-498-6000 to learn how to start that process. Then you’ll be ready to register when it’s available.

Find instructions for the registration process here.

2020 Awards for County and State Shoots
Shooting Sports Award.jpg

County Shoot

For county shoot, the Champion and Reserve Champion ribbons for the first and second-place finishers in each Shooting Sports division will be mailed to club leaders to distribute.

In 2019, we began distributing pins to each 4-H member for taking part in the shoot instead of having medals for the top placings. These were not here in time for county shoots and will be sent to club leaders as well.

State Shoot

We’re not sure about the timeline yet, but ribbons for the top 10 individual placings as well as the top 3 teams for each division at the State Shoot will be coming.

Members should have received their pin for being part of the Larimer County state team on the day of each county shoot.

2020 State Results Posted

The results from the 2020 State Shoot have been posted.

Originally results were released by Colorado State 4-H on November 3, 2020. Errors were discovered and revised results were posted on November 5, 2020.

The revisions were to the following divisions:

Archery: Senior Compound Limited
Shotgun: Senior Skeet
.22 Rifle: All divisions

2020 National Qualifiers

The National Qualifiers have been determined based on the 2020 State Shoot placings. Congratulations to all of the Larimer County 4-H Shooting Sports members who have been recognized as qualifiers for 4-H National Shooting Sports in June 2021.
