Archery practice on Tuesday, January 28 has been CANCELED.

Practices will begin on Tuesday, February 4 at 6:00 p.m. in the exhibit hall at the McKee Building.

Congratulations to the Larimer County 4-H members who placed well enough at the state competition in 2019 to qualify for the National Championships. They will represent Colorado in Grand Island, Nebraska in June 2020.

There will be a Western Heritage classroom meeting on Monday, January 20 in the McKee Building at The Ranch at 6:30 p.m.  If you are interested in joining Western Heritage, please attend. We have very little classroom time and a bunch of information to cover.

The Shooting Sports leaders in Larimer County 4-H will meet on Thursday, January 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the McKee Building.

Discussions will center on the upcoming orientations for all disciplines as well as planning for practices to be starting soon.

This year, all of our disciplines are working together to offer combined Orientations instead of separate dates for each discipline. Members have the opportunity to complete their Orientation on one date. Please see the flowchart on the image below to determinewhen you should attend, and save the date now!

Orientation is Mandatory

• All members must attend an orientation before attending practice.

• There are three opportunities for orientation.

• There will be no orientations at the ranges.

Attention all 4-H parents, volunteers, and members ages 14–18:

Our county has a large, successful Shooting Sports program, but we need certified volunteers to maintain and continue to hold safe practices and effectively teach our 4-H youth. Please consider attending a training this Spring and volunteering in our program! The trainings usually cost $135, and the Larimer County 4-H Foundation will reimburse a portion of that after serving the Shooting Sports program for one year. Last year we received a donation to cover the cost to all Junior Leaders (14–18-year-olds).

Colorado 4-H Shooting Sports has released the dates and locations for this Spring’s leader certification trainings. Specific disciplines are listed for each training session. No RSO trainings will be held in conjunction with the 4-H Shooting Sports leader trainings.

Registrations via 4HOnline will open approximately 6 weeks prior to the start of each training. 4-H volunteers must be approved, enrolled, and active in 4HOnline prior to registering for the trainings. Do not delay your volunteer enrollment or re-enrollment process. If you are not currently a 4-H leader, click here to find out how to get started.
